About M&M Riders
We are About Riding Motorcycles, during the riding season, depending on interest, we sometimes ride on Thursday evening at 6pm (usually to the KY River), an early Sunday (Heathens Ride) is at 8AM and a later after Church ride (Holly Rollers Ride) is at 1PM. Saturday rides are also occasionally scheduled depending on interest and destination. Actually come to think of it we will ride just about anytime we can get two or more of us together. We ride if the temperature is above 45 degrees and not raining or sloppy some of us may even ride in colder weather. When a ride is scheduled we meet at the Marathon Station in Kroger Centre, Mound Drive (the bypass) in Mt. Sterling. You can find it about a half mile around the bypass west from highway K11 just off exit 110 from I-64. Turn onto the bypass at Applebee's.
As I mentioned we are about riding motorcycles, having fun, but doing it safely. (We also enjoy eating, so if you know of any good restaurants guide us to them.) We are not a club. We are a free association. There are no officers, no Great Masters, no Grand Pooh-Bahs, (we do have a Santa Claws though) and there are no dues therefore we use email and this website as our contact medium when not together. There are no fines for not riding. We do not discriminate against any type or model of motorcycle (or anything else that I am aware of). We do look out for one another on the highway. We are just a group of people who love motorcycles. Many of us even ride them. The association is for the purpose and capability of contacting one another for group rides, fellowship, and in case of emergency.
We follow the "Rider in the Mirror" concept. Watch out for the rider in your rear view mirror. If he/she turns up missing, simply move forward and pop three short blasts on the horn. The person in front of you should indicate hearing you and then he/she relays the message forward until the leader hears and responds. It is then the leader's decision as to what action to take.
We also suggest the 2-second rule. Follow the bike directly in front of you no closer than 2 seconds. We will often ride 2 abreast on interstates and wide city streets otherwise we ride a staggered formation or single file on narrower two lane streets and roads.
If you join us and have a nickname you would like, please let us know. We will put it on the contact list. If not, we will tag you with one after we have ridden with you for a while. (This is fair warning.)
