HEAVEN

It wasn’t a big ride.  Not a three week journey across America.  It was just a short ride in the morning, a bite of lunch and home again.  As we were riding across Hwy 460 from Mt. Sterling toward Paris, the sun was warm on our backs and the wind cool on our faces.  We were passing the rolling hills and horse farms.  You could smell new mown hay, freshly tilled earth, a dash or two of honeysuckle, and a sprinkling of pine.  The air was clean and fresh.  You would almost get a chill where the big trees shaded the highway, almost but not quite.  The engine rumbled under the seat like an old friend murmuring memories in my ear.  My soul settled into an easy place.  It occurred to me that this must be what heaven is like.  No cares or worries; no pain just that feeling of well being.  I love riding in the morning on a warm summer's day.  It is wonderful.  I sincerely hope you have wonderful memories of your own.
